Messages on ‘bola de berlim’ bags sold at Castro Marim beaches urge beachgoers to save water and shop locally
The municipal council of Castro Marim has teamed up with ‘bola de berlim’ doughnut beach vendors to raise awareness about drought and encourage beachgoers to shop locally.
Throughout August, any ‘bola de berlim’ bought at local beaches has been handed to buyers in a paper bag covered with messages such as “Shop locally”, promoting local businesses and the Altura market, or “Each drop matters! Be aware. Reduce your consumption”.
The initiative was developed by the environmental division of the municipal council with the support of ‘bola de berlim’ bakers and vendors.
