Boliqueime hosts November gastronomic route

Boliqueime gastronomic route combines live music and typical Algarve cuisine

The village of Boliqueime in central Algarve is hosting ‘Bolicome’ (Bolieats), a month-long gastronomic route inviting residents and visitors to enjoy special evenings filled with local flavours and live music.

Participating restaurants across Boliqueime are offering special menus of typical dishes during the event, which started this month and continues Saturday (November 16) at Cantinho p’ra Ribeira, where diners will be able to enjoy a live performance by singer Isa de Brito while feasting on ‘xerém’ – a typical corn porridge – and stewed rooster.

Next Friday (November 22) another deliciously musical evening is planned, with Manuel do Norte – which will be serving fried ‘jaquinzinhos’ (horse mackerel) with tomato rice, as well as ‘assadura’, a traditional type of grilled pork – due to welcome a performance by Carlos Velez, and Arcos Café & Pizza hosting the event’s grand finale with César Luis on Saturday, November 30.

Bolicome is described by organisers as “an ideal opportunity to meet friends and family and savour local cuisine” whilst enjoying live music in a relaxed setting.

The event is organised by the Boliqueime Cultural Association (ACB) with the support of the local parish council.
