A total of 28 BPI branches closed for good last Friday as the bank starts a streamlining programme which means to shed as many as 6,000 workers from its domestic operation.
Branches that have not opened for business on Monday, June 30 are those in the north (Caminha, São Vítor in Braga and Matosinhos), in Lisbon (Avenida da Liberdade, Graça and Campo de Ourique) and a number south of the Tejo River.
