A British man has been caught trying to board a plane at Faro airport with a gun in his luggage.
According to a short newspaper report, the man was en-route for Britain after holidays in the Algarve earlier this week.
It is not known how the gun came to light, simply that “among other items, the man was trying to take a 12-calibre rifle” on board with him as he left Portugal.
Airport staff were swift to act and the man is reported to have been arrested by PSP police.
