British man rescued from drowning after saving his son at Lagos beach

A 45-year-old British man nearly died after saving his son from drowning at the Dona Ana beach in Lagos on Sunday (February 23).

The man dove into the sea when he saw his 10-year-old son being swept away by a wave. He was able to rescue him but swallowed a lot of water in the process, having to be revived twice on the beach by local firefighters and INEM emergency services.

He was taken to Portimão Hospital, according to Correio da Manhã tabloid.
