Portugal’s AD government will ask Brussels next month to hand over the €713 million that has been withheld from the Plan for Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), Manuel Castro Almeida, minister for territorial cohesion, announced today. “As was recently made public, the contracts that were missing to complete the targets equivalent to the 3rd and 4th payment requests have now been signed. So next month, we will ask for the delivery of the €713 million that has been held up in Brussels”, while efforts are underway to meet conditions for the submission of the 5th payment request. Castro Almedia was speaking during the annual meeting of the Plan for Recovery and Resilience – taking place in Lisbon – where he also said that works worth more than €2 billion will have to be launched in the coming months if the country does not want to lose funds altogether.
