Duo to unveil new song ‘Nirvana’ on the eve of anniversary performance
An epic party is being promised for the 10th anniversary of DJ duo Bubba Brothers, which will be celebrated with a rooftop performance at Hotel Eva in Faro on Saturday (September 14).
Festivities will begin at 6pm with opening performances by DJ Katwerk and DJ Milk&Sugar, the latter of which has achieved huge success of Spotify with around 205 million streams and over 600,000 monthly listeners.
The highlight, however, will be the moment when Bubba Brothers will take the stage to celebrate their 10-year career with a carefully planned set.
“This is much more than just showing up and playing music, as if it were magic,” says Bubba Brothers frontman Eliseu Correia. “The sets are the result of thousands of rehearsed variations, of several themes, so that on the day of the concert, I can choose from among the multiple possible variations. In my case, I don’t use pre-recorded digital playlists. In other words, what I have in my head is what I will play, in tune with the way the audience is reacting and engaging with the music.”

Aside from the highly anticipated concert, fans will also be treated to the launch of a new song called ‘Nirvana’ on the eve of the concert. “We think it’s truly a great song,” says Eliseu Correia.
Also in the pipeline is a new EP which will be launched in October or November, featuring three remixes of the duo’s song ‘Hangover’ by three different DJs.
Reaching the 10-year milestone was something that the duo could not have anticipated when they started their joint endeavour as a “joke”.
“Even the name Bubba Brothers is a joke. In other words, under no circumstances was it supposed to reach the size it has today. I’m not saying I’m not happy because we worked hard for this,” says the frontman, who admits feeling “over the moon.”
“With so many DJs out there, and with so many free shows around, especially in the summer, people always come back to see us play. I can’t even find the words; it’s incredibly rewarding. After all, this whole music thing is all about energy. You create an exchange of energy where the pinnacle is feeling a reaction to what we’re doing. Whether it’s 500 or 50,000 people, it’s the same. Our frontlines are practically always the same. There’s a tribe, a dedicated group of 150 people who have been to almost all the concerts. In times like these, being able to say that, I think it’s fantastic,” he adds.
What’s even more impressive is that Bubba Brothers continues to attract new fans, whose ages range from 15 all the way to 70.
Tickets for the 10th anniversary concert cost €10 and can be purchased online.
