EasyHotel has opened its latest branch in Budapest, offering double rooms in the heart of the Hungarian capital for less than 20 pounds sterling per room per night.

The low-cost, low-space “Microtel” is the third to open in a major city, following on from London and Basel, Switzerland.

Situated in the Oktogon district, close to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation world heritage area, the period building offers 59 bedrooms, providing a basic crash pad with all unnecessary frills, including breakfast, stripped away.

Rooms come with a double bed and a tinyLoo, a bathroom pod the size of a wardrobe with a sink, shower and a toilet. The company plans to open up to 60 new hotels in city locations across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, notably Dubai.
