Car loan

AN APPEAL has been launched by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) to EU policy makers to consider bringing in new measures to assist car manufacturers to meet EU emissions reduction legislation.

The current economic climate is making it difficult for manufacturers to invest in technology to reduce CO2 emissions and the ACEA has asked the EU to consider a low interest loan package totalling 40 billion euros.

The ACEA believes that a loan would show European consumers that the EU has confidence in the European car industry.
