Castro Marim council has announced that the construction of a municipal road between Altura and Furnazinhas is “going well” and should be completed by the end of April.
Representing a €2.8 million investment, the 34km road will connect the coastal and mountain areas of the municipality, says the council.
Workers are building the final stretch (Eira Verda/Monte Novo) as well as a 135-metre bridge in Fortes to allow drivers access over the Odeleite River.
According to the council, the road will help shorten the distance between Monte Novo and Monte da Estrada from 20kms to 10kms.
