Even if you don’t fancy snails, Castro Marim’s International Festival of the Snail promises endless delights, including mouth-watering Portuguese custard tarts (pastéis de nata), traditional music and lots of beer. Thousands are expected for this three-day event which is open to everyone and starts with a local band on Friday June 6 at 7pm. Entertainment runs through the weekend, with snails promised from here, there and everywhere, including Morocco!
