There will be a collection for the Lagoa Food Bank
Catholic Mass in English will take place this Sunday, January 19, at 4pm in Carvoeiro at the chapel on the cliffs – Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Encarnação. This is the monthly English Mass.
The celebrant will be Padre Nuno Coelho, the parish priest.
“Padre Nuno is going the extra mile to serve the international community through these Masses in English. He also adapts his mass to include any French speakers present. So, if you are looking for a meaningful celebration of your Catholic faith, in English/French, please join us. Everyone is most welcome even if you do not normally attend this church,” says Madeleine Wheare from Carvoeiro Catholics.
This Mass will be in English: the readings, the hymns as well as the Order of Mass. Everyone is most welcome even if you do not normally attend this church.
“We have a retiring collection for the Lagoa Food Bank. We have over 100 families in need at this time. Please give generously.”
This mass will be in addition to the chapel’s usual Saturday evening Mass at 5.30pm (in Portuguese). This English Mass (normally the third Sunday of every month) does not replace that.
