Learn about the secret that is Alagoas Brancas this Sunday
An event to celebrate World Wetlands Day is taking place at Alagoas Brancas in Lagoa on Sunday, February 4, from 11am to 2pm.
Organisers say: “Come and meet the birds that visit Alagoas Brancas and learn more about the importance of saving, protecting and preserving wetlands like Alagoas Brancas.
Dr Manfred Temme, a German ornithologist and biologist who has revealed to the world the secret that is Alagoas Brancas, will be on hand to speak to participants keen to learn about the site.
Families are welcome and there will be activities for children.
The meeting point is ALDI car park and participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and footwear. “And don’t forget your binoculars or camera.” Drinks and snacks will be served.
This event is supported by several NGOs and environmental associations such as SPEA, Almargem, GEOTA, Cidade da Participação, FAPAS, A Rocha, SPECO, ZERO, TAGIS, LPN, ASPEA, Quercus and Iris Ambiente.
