A charity dinner to raise money for a dancing and gymnastics group in Mexilhoeira Grande, which is in need of new premises to practice, will be held at Horta Grill in Montes de Alvor, Portimão on Friday, November 8.
The event is being organised by local resident Barrington Thomas, who organised a similar charity event in July to raise money for four-year-old cancer patient Maria Flor.
This time the goal is to help raise money for the Clube de Instrução e Recreio Mexilhoeirense (CIRM), which includes performers from three years of age to 70.
Part of the proceeds of the event will go to the group to help fund its future and find new premises.
The dinner costs €25 and includes an appetizer, vegetable soup, chicken piri-piri or fish, dessert, coffee, and complementary drinks.
“We will have 12 short shows of gymnastic dancing, with some dancing to the song of ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ sung by me, plus two Fado singers who will bring their own guitarists with them. The evening will end with the dancers inviting guests onto the dance floor for a finale, and then a short period of Rock and Roll music,” Barrington told us.
