Chef Noélia Jerónimo brings signature cuisine to Olhão

Noélia Jerónimo promises “flavour, flavour, flavour” at new Olhão restaurant

Real Marina Hotel & Spa in Olhão will open a new restaurant in July under the guidance of award-winning Algarve chef Noélia Jerónimo, known for her work at the popular Cabanas de Tavira restaurant Noélia & Jerónimo.

Named ‘Marina com Noélia’ (Marina with Noélia), the restaurant will overlook the picturesque Ria Formosa and promises to serve dishes with “traditional Portuguese flavours inspired by the sea and estuary”.

The restaurant’s tried-and-tested strategy will be to offer “passionate and simple cuisine made with the freshest local ingredients, sourced directly from the Olhão market.”

“With this partnership, the Real Marina Hotel & Spa aims to provide its guests with a new gastronomic experience, complemented by an idyllic view of the Ria Formosa, in a renovated space boasting over 70 seats on the terrace and 36 seats indoors,” the hotel says in a statement.

Meanwhile, chef Noélia says she is “very happy” to be able to bring her brand of cuisine inspired by the Ria Formosa to the new restaurant.

This project will see me giving my best, bringing a rich repertoire of land and sea flavours – flavour, flavour, flavour – my guiding principle,” says Noélia Jerónimo. “I hope to make all the guests at Real Marina Hotel & Spa happy with this new, more personal menu.”

The restaurant is set to open its doors in July, operating daily for lunch from 12.30pm to 4.30pm and for dinner from 6pm to 11pm.

The press release adds that chef Noélia “seeks to expand her unique style and bring culinary excellence to a broader audience, committed to providing high-quality and accessible gastronomic experiences.”

As it explains, the chef “is renowned for her passion for Portuguese cuisine. At Marina with Noélia, she will focus on dishes that highlight the region’s seafood and fresh produce, incorporating innovative approaches to traditional recipes.”

“Her culinary journey began at a young age, inspired by the flavours and ingredients of her homeland. Noélia has worked in several renowned restaurants across Portugal, where she honed her skills and deepened her knowledge of Portuguese gastronomy. Her talent and dedication have earned her numerous accolades, including a Bib Gourmand recommendation from the Michelin Guide,” it adds.
