Organisers have announced the six finalists of the national ‘Chef of the Year’ competition, described as the biggest and oldest national competition for professional chefs in Portugal.
The list features Francisca Dias (Casa do Gadanha, Estremoz), Diogo Novais Pereira (Poirinhos, Fafe), João Costa (Euskalduna Studio, Porto), Jorge Bolito (The Yeatman, Vila Nova de Gaia), Mário Santos (Rossio Gastrobar – Altis Avenida, Lisbon) and Pedro Drias (Culto ao Bacalhau, Porto).
Bruno Augusto from Tivoli Carvoeiro in Lagoa and João Carvalho from World of Wine in Vila Nova de Gaia have been named the substitute contestants.
The final will take place on Wednesday, May 22 at Lamego Multiuse Centre.
