CHEGA leader announces he (too) could end up running for president

With a lot of media focus hovering over the likely candidacy of outgoing Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral Henrique Gouveia e Melo, for Portugal’s next President of the Republic, CHEGA leader André Ventura has announced he too may end up running in the ‘race’, that will only start to ‘heat up’ during the latter part of 2025. Ventura has run for president before (and lost), but much has changed in CHEGA’s favour since that candidacy. The political leader says he will make up his mind, either way, by the end of March. Portugal’s presidential elections take place in January 2026.
