Truck hits girl near ‘Worms’ roundabout
An 11 year old girl died late this afternoon following an accident involving a lorry in Albufeira.
According to reports this far, the youngster was run over by the lorry close to the Worms roundabout.
The incident happened around 5.30pm.
Death was declared at the scene by the doctor travelling in the VMER first response vehicle. Another 21 emergency personnel, supported by nine vehicles attended.
The child has not been identified beyond nationality, which appears to have been Brazilian. It has not been explained if she was walking alone, or accompanied.
Correio da Manhã has said that psychological support is being given to the child’s family and to the driver of the lorry. ND
