Child ‘saved’ from choking dies week later

Tragic news reached Trofa firefighters last night who, a week ago, managed to ‘save’ a little girl who had choked on food at her home. According to reports, the family of the little girl rushed to the local fire station after she started choking (as it was very close by), and firefighters trained in first aid managed to clear her airways and reverse the situation of cardiac arrest. The child was transported to Porto’s Hospital São João, but sadly died from the ‘after effects’ of the incident. The funeral was today.
