King’s Easter treat
Olhão || Readers are reminded that pastry chef Filipe Martins of Olhão is planning a special Easter treat for people to tuck into.
He will make an 80-metre long rolled Easter cake comprising 300 kilos of ingredients, which the local population can taste from 10am onwards on March 23 next to the Praça da Restauração and the Igreja Matriz.
Four different types of Easter cakes will form the lengthy offering: the traditional Olhão roll with sugar, one from honey and olive oil, the third from mountain ingredients and the fourth from chocolate.
Filipe, who won the Festival of Chocolate in the town of Óbidos in 2010, made a similar offering last Christmas with a giant cake.
