Christmas Carols will be sung
The Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação in Carvoeiro will be holding two Masses in English this Christmas.
The third Sunday of Advent on Sunday, December 15, at 4pm, and Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, at 6 pm.
The celebrant will be parish priest Padre Nuno Coelho. Padre Nuno is going “the extra mile” to serve the international community through these Masses in English. His commitment is to ensure that the Algarve has at least one mass in English at the high holidays. Padre Nuno also adapts his mass to include any French speakers present.
“So, if you are looking for a meaningful celebration of your Catholic faith in English/French at this festive time, please join us,” said a spokesperson for the Carvoeiro Catholics. “Everyone is most welcome even if you do not normally attend this church. We will sing traditional Christmas carols!”
There will be a retiring collection for the Lagoa Food Bank, in support of over 100 families in need at this time.
These masses will be in addition to the chapel’s usual Saturday evening masses at 5.30pm (in Portuguese).
