An original festive project organised by non-profit association Teia D’Impulsos is planning to bring Christmas cheer to the streets of Portimão and Ferragudo, while also boosting local commerce.
‘Caminho dos Presépios’ (Path of the Nativity Scenes) – to run between December 14 and January 5 – will create special paths, all leading to nativity scenes scattered throughout shops, restaurants and public spaces in the town and village centres. The scenes will be made by anyone interested in taking part – the only prerequisite is that they should be original and help promote local establishments.
To encourage people on board, the association is offering prizes for the three best ‘presépios’ as well as a distinction for the most creative, the most original and the one that imparts the best message.
Anyone interested can sign up for the initiative. Applications should be in by December 6.
