Climate activists descend on health ministry

With climate activists’ protests becoming daily obstacles for the citizens of Lisbon, today’s fixture took place outside the Ministry of Health, on the basis that “the climate crisis is a public health crisis”. The intention was to block entry to the ministry. Police “took the necessary action” and normality was restored. This week, activists have already ‘blocked entrance to the Bank of Portugal’ (in protest to the government’s investment in fossil fuels) and ‘camped’ in the atrium to the Psychology Faculty of Lisbon University) to protest against the war in Gaza AND the use of fossil fuels.
