Another twist in the shameful deaths of two young commando recruits almost eight years ago has seen the former commander of the commando regiment Col Luís Dores Moreira condemned for falsifying documents concerning ‘Prova Zero’ (exercises where recruits were denied water). Col Moreira received a year and seven months, suspended. Recently, appeal court judges altered original rulings on ‘the guilty’ in this case, ordering two former army personnel to serve jail time.
