Constitutional Court judges have rejected the (PS Socialist led) proposal for a local referendum on local accommodation in Lisbon because they “did not consider the legality” of the popular initiative supporting it to be verified due to the absence of “effective control of the signatures” required. A ruling released yesterday said: “It is decided not to consider the legality of the local referendum, by popular initiative, whose holding was decided by the Municipal Assembly of Lisbon, in its session of December 3, 2024”.
