Construction costs for new housing in Portugal in June were up 3.7% from their level in the same month last year, with this increase being 0.4 of a percentage point higher than the year-on-year increase seen in May, National Statistics Institute INE announced today. According to INE, the price of materials were up 0.1% on a year earlier, while labour costs rose by 8.4%. Labour costs contributed 3.6 percentage points to the year-on-year rate of change in the Construction Cost Index for New Housing (CCINH) and materials 0.1 of a point.
