Portugal’s consumer confidence indicator has continued to rise in February – according to INE statistics institute – while the economic climate indicator fell, interrupting the upward trend of the previous three months, the institute announced today. According to INE’s Business and Consumer Surveys, the consumer confidence indicator rose between December and February, after having fallen in the previous four months. The economic climate indicator, based on business surveys, fell in February after rising between November and January. In the month under review, the services confidence indicator fell, while the indicators for manufacturing, construction and public works and trade increased. According to INE, its data collection periods ran from February 1 to 16 in the case of the consumer survey, and from February 1 to 22 in the case of the business surveys.
