Sonae’s supermarket chain Continente has not denied that it is planning to open a hypermarket in Lagoa.
A source from Continente told the Resident that the chain is “always on the lookout for new opportunities to expand”, adding that any “further information will be revealed at the right time”.
As we reported last week, there is a project being developed that includes major traffic changes on the EN125 road in Lagoa – including the construction of a large roundabout near Barclays bank. It is rumoured the work is in preparation for a future Continente hypermarket.
