Contract signed for €233 million Lisbon airport upgrade

The contract for remodelling work at Lisbon Airport was signed today by Vinci, ANA and a consortium led by Mota-Engil, and is expected to cost €233 million. The investment includes the construction of 10 boarding points and the remodelling of the entire south busgate building, but it goes against the wishes of so many Lisbon residents and pressure groups that say they do not want more aviation traffic/ pollution/ noise overhead while the new city airport in Alcochete is still years away. Perhaps because of this, the signing ‘ceremony’ did not allow any journalists’ questions.
