The leader of Faro Câmara has launched an enquiry into what has been described as “the inappropriate and unauthorised usage” of a mechanical digger that belongs to the câmara for the burial of three animals from the Dallas circus. According to one of the proprietors of the circus, Renato Alves, the deaths of the three animals, two tigers and a lion, occurred on January 5 and January 7 and the corpses needed to be buried as quickly as possible. “No contact was made with the câmara. A digger machine was near here and I merely asked the driver to block up the hole where we deposited the bodies,” said Alves. The circus did not give any official explanation for why the animals died.
