Aveiro court has extended the house arrest of Fernando Valente, the man suspected of having murdered missing mother of two Mónica Silva (seven months pregnant when she ‘disappeared’ without trace in October, 2023). Valente’s period under house arrest was to have ‘expired’, but public prosecutors have succeeded in prolonging the time by which they must press charges, meaning they could end up with a year to continue their investigations. The biggest problem in this mystery is the lack of a body.
