Latest data from the DGS (general directorate of health) shows that 28 million Covid vaccines have been administered in Portugal since the start of the vaccination campaign in December 2020. The vaccines have been administered to almost every age group, from the age of 5 – and almost everyone over the age of 25 has received at least one dose. Seven different types of vaccine are currently available in Portugal. The DGS adds that “the shelf life of Covid-19 vaccines has increased over the years, due to tests carried out by the companies, and currently the Covid-19 vaccines used in Portugal have a shelf life of 18 months.”
