Faro’s Teatro das Figuras has suspended all events until April 3 due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak.
“After this date, the situation will be re-evaluated considering the evolution of the pandemic and the recommendations of the national health board (DGS),” the theatre said in a statement to the press.
It adds that the DGS has advised all event organisers and venues to “postpone or cancel all events (even those with fewer than 1,000 people) that might attract people who in the last 14 days were in areas where there has been an active and continuous transmission of the virus”.
As the theatre points out, this would be too difficult to determine, making it safer and easier to suspend all events until next month.
Tickets which have already been purchased for shows at the theatre will be valid for the dates that will be announced later on, although refunds can be requested by contacting the establishment from which they bought the tickets.
