Covid cases, deaths and hospital admissions have increased slightly with a new Omicron variant identified that is expected to become dominant by December. Experts are described as “concerned by the implications to people’s health” that the new variant may pose, albeit SIC television news stresses: “The symptoms of Covid-19 in every way are identical to those of the flu. Specialists thus appeal that in situations of a persistent cough, sneezing and fever that people wear face masks to protect those around them. And they remind once again the importance of vaccination”.
