Covid-vaccine ‘negationists’ to go on trial for insults during pandemic

A number of people who did not believe the Covid vaccines were ‘safe and effective’ – in fact, who believed very much the opposite – and staged various protests are due to go on trial for the insults and heckling directed at Portugal’s then ‘vaccine czar’, Naval boss Henrique Gouveia e Melo, and former parliamentary leader Ferro Rodrigues. The two separate incidents were widely reported, and in the insulting of Ferro Rodrigues, there was the added incident of criminal damage. One of the defendants is being cited also for a particular insult she hurled at Ferro Rodrigues.
