‘Cristianinho’, 14, plays for the youth squads of Al Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo’s 14-year-old son has been called up to Portugal’s Under-15 squad for the first time.
Cristiano dos Santos, or ‘Cristianinho’ as he is affectionately known, plays for the youth squads of Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, the same team as his father. He has now been included in group of 22 promising Portuguese footballers who will represent the country’s U-15 team at the Vlatko Markovic International Tournament in Croatia.
The announcement has already been celebrated by CR7, who took to social media to congratulate his teenage son. “Proud of you, son!” wrote the football icon.
Portugal’s U-15s will face Japan (May 13), Greece (May 14), and England (May 16) in the group stage, with a final match scheduled for May 18 against an opponent yet to be determined.
In addition to the matches, the team will hold four training sessions – two at the Portuguese Football Federation’s Cidade do Futebol and two more after arriving in Croatia.
Notably, the squad list does not include any players from Sporting CP or Benfica, as both clubs are currently competing in the final stages of their national youth championships.
