Lagos Zoo has transferred one of its dwarf male crocodiles to the Mulhouse Zoo in France to mate. The animal was considered a “very important” specimen due to his bloodline. Meantime, the little zoo at the end of the motorway near Barão de São João will be receiving a female croc from England’s Tamworth Zoo to add new energy to their reproductive mix.
Swaps of this kind are vital to keeping zoos in business, and help towards species preservation.
