The macabre discovery of the body of a woman tied at the wrists in a burnt-out car on the Loulé-Quarteira borders has sparked a murder hunt.
Say reports, the woman appears to match the description of a woman “with a past related to the consumption of drugs” who was reported missing a couple of days ago.
GNR police were called to the scene, described as “isolated land between Loulé and Quarteira”, on Monday evening at around 8pm.
When agents realised they were dealing with a dead body in the vehicle’s interior, the investigation passed to judicial police of the ‘directorate of the south’.
Faro PJ conducted forensic examinations late into the night and will now be following up on whatever leads they gleaned, says tabloid Correio da Manhã.
As of Tuesday morning, the authorities were not revealing more details about the dead woman’s identity, said the paper.
