Diogo Picão showcases new album at Albufeira winery on May 31

The concert is part of the “Nota das Adegas” events promoting local winemakers and their blends.

Singer and musician Diogo Picão is showcasing his new album, “Palavras Caras e outros temas,” in Albufeira on May 31 at 21h30 as part of the “Nota das Adegas” concerts.

Hosted at the Adega do Cantor, the evening will kick off at 20h30 with a wine tasting and an opportunity to socialise before the concert starts.

Diogo Picão is a musician, composer and lyricist described by the show’s promoters as “young and brilliant, delivering intelligent songs with a rhythm that blends various influences such as Portuguese, Brazilian, and jazz in a captivating way”.

Nota das Adegas

Born in 1988 in Lourinhã, he studied saxophone at the Torres Vedras Jazz School in 2003. He then graduated in Music from the ESMAE – Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo in Porto in 2009.

The young musician released his debut album, “Cidade Saloia”, in February 2018.

His second album, “Palavras Caras”, was launched in September 2022 at the Teatro Maria Matos in Lisbon in front of a packed audience. Featuring a lineup of twenty musicians, the record includes guest appearances by Salvador Sobral, Mônica Salmaso, and Luca Argel.

In 2022, he participated in a showcase at the Ibero-American Music Expo (Exib). The same year, he joined the cast of the show “Pantera” by Companhia de Dança Clara Andermatt, paying tribute to the Cape Verdean singer and musician Orlando “Pantera.”

In 2023, the song “Encontro de Amigos” was nominated at the International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMA) in two categories: “Best Song” and “Tradicional”. Last year, he was the only Portuguese artist to participate in the Gwangju Busking World Cup in South Korea.
