FNAM, the national federation of doctors, has denounced the agreement between its counterpart (more right wing) union SIM and the government, as a betrayal of all doctors working in the public health system – and something that will fail to attract the medical professionals so badly needed. The fact that FNAM represents the majority of doctors within the State health service means that the federation will now be pushing for the government to negotiate seriously with FNAM, which is ready for “new forms of struggle in 2025” if it feels there are no alternatives.
