Leaving youngsters in the car while you run an errand could be potentially life threatening.

According to experts, younger children do not adapt as well to the heat as older children. Therefore, it is imperative that parents take them out of the car – and never leave them just because they are napping. Experts also said that winding down a window is not enough.

“If they’ve been left for a long period of time, certainly children can and will die from that,” said emergency room doctor, Lee Johnson.

Doctors warn that during a 32˚C day, it could be 54˚C inside a car.
