Portugal’s GNR police arrested a 67-year-old man in Águeda this week, who was driving under the influence of alcohol, and tried to bribe agents “to avoid the legal consequences of his offence”. In a statement, the GNR said that the incident was recorded during a traffic check in the parish of Aguada de Cima, in the municipality of Águeda. The man was arrested for attempted corruption and the amount of money he was proposing to hand over to police was also seized.
