Duo robs €60,000 from popular Algarve nightclub

Police are trying to track down the duo that robbed the Algarve nightclub

Two men are wanted by police for robbing €60,000 from the popular Lick nightclub in Boliqueime, Loulé on Sunday morning (August 11).

According to Jornal de Notícias, the duo entered the nightclub and physically threatened one of the employees into handing them money that was stored inside a safe.

The robbers were then able to leave the nightclub and escape on a motorbike which they had parked outside.

GNR police in Vilamoura were called to the scene and are investigating. JN adds that the testimonies of the employees who were at the nightclub at the time of the robbery and the nightclub’s CCTV camera footage could help authorities discover the men’s identities.

Meanwhile, Lick has released a short statement on the incident, explaining that the robbery happened at a time when the nightclub was “closed and had no clients inside.”

The nightclub also clarified that no one was attacked or hurt during the robbery, contrary to what some newspapers had reported.

Lick added that the case is being investigated by the “competent authorities”, which can count on the “complete collaboration of the nightclub’s management and all of its employees.”
