Clouds of dust could be making their way over to Portugal from the north of Africa until Tuesday (September 17), leading to a decrease in air quality. The warning has been made by online weather portal Meteoalerta.
“This phenomenon, often mistaken as high clouds, leads to a white-looking sky and a certain cloudiness,” the portal’s meteorologists wrote, adding that people with respiratory diseases could suffer worse symptoms due to the particles that are in the air.
These clouds of dust could also lead to “irritation in the eyes, nose and throat and coughing”.
