An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale was registered on Tuesday at 10.27am with its epicentre located 80 kilometres southwest of the São Vicente cape in Sagres, Vila do Bispo.
In a communiqué sent out to the press, the Portuguese sea and atmosphere institute (IPMA) said it had not received reports of anyone having felt the earthquake or of any damage caused.
