afpop East Algarve organised a wine tasting and dinner on November 15 at Vila Monte, Moncarapacho, raising €1,300 for the local StreetLife animal sterilisation programme.
Over 70 guests attended the evening and a good time was had by all. “Everyone went home feeling very buzzy. Maybe the wine had something to do with it,” joked organisers who teamed up with Sogrape for the wine tasting.
StreetLife is a new initiative from a group of animal lovers who want to reduce the number of stray and abandoned dogs in the East Algarve through a sterilisation programme. The non-profit organisation supports local pet owners with insufficient funds to sterilise their dogs.
StreetLife’s next fundraising event will be a Christmas dinner and quiz on Saturday, December 15 at Restaurante Churrasqueira Marim in Olhão, at 7.30pm.
Cost is €11 per person, including Christmas Music & Quiz and supper (couvert, chicken or non-meat option, dessert, water and wine).
