There will be a retiring collection for the Lagoa Cáritas Food Bank
An Easter Sunday Catholic Mass in English will take place on Sunday, April 20 at 4pm, at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Incarnation – Ermida da Nossa Senhora da Encarnação – on the cliffs above Carvoeiro.
Come and celebrate the Joy of the Risen Lord!
The whole Mass will be in English: the readings, the hymns as well as the Order of Mass. All residents and visitors are most welcome. Padre Nuno Coelho – our parish priest – will be the celebrant.
There will be a retiring collection for the Lagoa Cáritas Food Bank, which helps over 100 families in need at this time.
Holy Week services – in Portuguese, except Easter Sunday at 4pm
- Maundy Thursday, April 17 – The Last Supper – 6.30pm, Mexilhoeira da Carregação; 9pm Lagoa Mass with “Washing of the Feet” followed by Adoration and “The Watch” till midnight
- Good Friday, April 18 – 3pm, Lagoa – The Passion; 6.30pm, Parchal – The Passion; 10pm, Lagoa – Procession
- Holy Saturday, April 19 – 10pm, Lagoa – Easter Vigil
- Easter Sunday, April 20 – The Resurrection of Our Lord – 9am, Mexilhoeira da Carregação; 10.30am, Parchal; 12 noon, Lagoa; 4pm, Carvoeiro – Mass in English
