In one tragic weekend (not even a ‘Bank Holiday’ weekend: just the typical two-day break) eight people lost their lives on Portugal’s roads – three of them on the EN 125 in Faro, in two separate incidents. The other fatalities occurred in Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Setúbal, Porto and Lisbon. In all, there were 407 accidents causing not just the eight deaths, but 20 serious injuries, and 159 light injuries.
