Eight year old scout killed by car reversing out of control in churchyard

An eight year old scout, practising in a churchyard in Barcelos for a special event with a number of colleagues, was killed outright when a car ‘careered at some speed in reverse’ when the driver was intending to drive forwards. The car hit the whole group of scouts, four of which had to be treated in hospital. The case is being investigated by the GNR police. The driver, a 50-year-old woman, is understood to have lost control of the vehicle.
