EN125 sex-traffickers jailed for three years

Prostitution || Three Romanians who forced underage girls into prostitution along the EN125 have at last been jailed.
The men who fled Portugal after being alerted to an investigation led by SEF (border control police) were hunted down in various countries and brought back to Portugal to face charges. They were each handed down three-year prison sentences.
A fourth man is understood to have been involved, but according to news reports he has still to be found.
The youngsters involved – a number in their mid-teens – have apparently been repatriated, news sources report, though many of the girls were also used for sex elsewhere in Portugal.
SEF first detected the network in 2010.
Anyone who knows the EN125 will be aware of the points in Loulé where scantily-clad young girls are habitually seen by the side of the road, but at least in this case the ringleaders are behind bars.
Faro’s Criminal Court heard how the sex-traffickers used violence and psychological force to get the young women to do as they wanted.
